Chitra despises her husband and his idealistic ways. Deep within herself she nurses a grudge against her fate. She did not want Shekar. She wanted a dashing and smart person as her husband. She meets Jagdish who is mirror image of her maidenhood dreams. She gets infatuated with Jagadish.
Shekhar wants to save the marriage but not at the cost of Chitra’s infidelity. He confronts Chitra and asks her to decide one way or the other.
Sandeep is Shekhar’s boyhood friend and is a happy bachelor. He meets Sonam, a girl working in a restaurant. Their romance has a rough passage under the shadow of the broken home of Shekhar and Chitra.
What does marriage do to two perfectly normal human beings that they turn into bitterly fighting individuals? Shekhar’s ultimatum sets both himself and Chitra thinking.
The play tries to explore the relationships in the modern day world.
