About the Play

Dasha is a collage of four powerful stories by renowned authors depicting four states of existence. Different lives, different situations.

Kafan is based on the famous story by the same name by Munshi Premchand.

Langad is play is based on a character from the iconic book ‘Ragdarbari’ by Gyanpeeth award winner Shri Lal Shukla

Kaun Ho Tum Brihannala and Chirag Ka Bhoot are original plays written by Mathura Kalauny

Synopsis

Kafan: Story of men trapped in abject poverty where norms of morality are different. Even though a person may not get a piece of rag to cover himself, he gets a new Kafan when he dies.

Chirag Ka Bhoot: What would a common man ask a Genie if it were to suddenly make an appearance? The story of a man in a very strange situation.

Langad: A man trapped in a quagmire of bureaucratic corruption. How many Janams would you require to move bureaucratic machinery?

Kaun Ho Tum Brihannala: The feeling of helplessness experienced by a transgender. A heart rending story of ignominy suffered by Arjun as Brihannala. Pause and reflect the next time you see a Hijda
